The smell of fresh ink
After sitting in customs for a day or two the friendly UPS delivery man finally delivered my shipment of author copies today. Feels so good to flip through it and smell that freshly printed ink. Should be shipping soon! Hope everyone enjoys it.

Congrats Jeff! I’ve seen this book first hand and read the whole thing cover to cover (I got an advance copy). This is truly a next generation book for the web. There is nothing like it anywhere.
If you want to add the functionality, scalability, accessibility and the inevitable “bling of web 2.0″, then you NEED to buy this book.
I guess I’ll see this book very soon!
I think I missed something. In chap. 1, pg.36, going over the example1.html, I could fing no initAnchors() function in example1.js to cause the result. In testing, it seemed to me that what was happening was that the for loop went through all its iterations prior to the click event calling the id of the anchor, which of course resulted in 4. Changing the i<=3 to i<=5 for instance gave an id of 6. Did I miss something?
On page 73, discussing call() and apply(), you reference an example “without-context.html”. The downloaded code for chap.2 under “doubleCheck” only contains the js files. Should I have the html file to test the script on pp 73-74?

jeah, the book arrived today in Austria
just started reading and wanted to download the “remember.pdf” to print it and attach it next to my screen, but I couldn’t find it
so far the book seems to be really great, finally something extremely useful for reading again!
Wonderful book! I am a big fan of learning things the correct way from the start, it simplifies things down the road. As an intermediate web designer looking for an explanation of the DOM and ways to manipulate it, I am very pleased. Keep up the good work Jeff!
Hi I just purchased the book and working through chapter 1. I try downloading the source code, and I get this… Would you please debug your site or provide me with an alternate link or even a “page under construction” acknowledgement. Thanks!
